A short guide to Cope with Rejections
W
We all have been rejected.
Someway or Another
And we never really liked that feeling.
Who Does?
Rather Social Rejection is painful.
But even after knowing the fact that it hurts, we also rejected others, many times.
Cause we are Humans.
This is how we are.
And it's okay.
Still, during those times, when we get rejected at an interview, maybe we found that our friends are having a blast and we are not invited, maybe when you see your ex with someone else and that too, happy, we do feel rejected. And it hurts.
Science believes that social rejection can be as painful as a physical one.
And this is a part of how we Evolved.
So, in simple words, even though this part s*cks, you can’t just run away from this. You will face rejection and you will also reject a few others.
Now that we can’t avoid it, so let’s try to deal with it head-on.
Let me tell you, we can actually handle a lot more than we believe.
So, maybe a little practice in the right direction can help us take this rejection a bit lighter.
Now, it's time we get into some of the ways you can kind of handle this wave of emotion.
First, to know that it is Okay
Feeling very disheartened when you are rejected.
As I said earlier, we are all Human.
And it is the emotion that makes us Human.
Just don’t judge your emotion.
And only know that
these are all temporary and time will heal all.
Allow those emotions to flow within you.
Just as the way, they came, they will leave too. And all you need to understand is that don’t hold on to them.
Let them flow.
Rejection makes us the Move forward
You must be thinking how inhuman it is to say when someone is going through this kind of emotion.
But this is true.
You have to realize every single rejection that comes on your way, to make sure that you take the other route which in most cases, comes out to be better.
This is what is called, Connecting the Dot.
You will never realize this in the future, once you have been through all these.
You need to understand that the road that has been closed was never meant to be open in the first place.
Stoicism has a similar belief.
They take rejection positively.
They use it to move forward, not to hold back.
So, just believe, that something good is about to happen once you overcome this obstacle.
These rejections are the ones that will shape your road to success.
Feel lucky that these happened!
All in all my friend, what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger.
Take in those emotions, feel them and let them go when it is time.
You know, life will throw a lot of curve balls at you, and this is one of those.
So, if you can handle one, you can handle the rest.
And this is what life is my friend. Continuous incoming of curve balls.
So, take these as a part of life and learn the lesson.
Anyways, I hope the said approach will help you take on rejection a bit differently.
